Ironic

Good for me, bad for you. That is, if you're expecting a Christmas gift from me this year. I managed to get through the entire consumer-driven long weekend without dropping a cent. A CENT! We didn't even eat out thanks to all of the Thanksgiving dinner leftovers Mama Shrek sent home with us.

Don't worry. Shrek and I purposefully bypassed the mall-madness in favor of a one-stop-shop in SF this coming weekend. (Plus, I might want to check out Jimmy Choo for H&M. Just to look, of course.)

For fun, I did bake another batch of biscotti (visit original recipe here) and dip them in chocolate. They are SUPER YUM!

Dear Santa

Why is it whenever I make a vow to stop doing something - shopping, for example - I find all this great stuff? Since I am no longer permitted to make purchases for myself ($14.50 denim doesn't count!), I'm throwin' this out there. For Santa, of course.

Any one of these would be much appreciated on Christmas Day! Or any day, for that matter ;)

$14.50 Denim

I know I said no more shopping for myself, but how can I pass on $14.50 denim

Headband by J Crew. Plaid flannel shirt by TNA at Aritzia.
Jeans by Forever 21. Boots by Frye.

Thanks!

 A timeout to give thanks.

I ran 4 miles of the Los Gatos Creek Trail during my lunch break on Wednesday. In a tank top and cropped leggings. Pain-free. The visual of the sun cutting through the crisp Fall...
It was just perfect. I had to stop and take this photo with my iPhone.

It really made me thankful for my good health and thankful my gainful employment which allows me to buy the clothes on my back, shoes on my feet, and the food to fuel my activities.

I'm thankful for my parents who are the best. I know, I'm bias. ;)

Yup, that's them!

I'm thankful for my "wholesome" upbringing.
I grew up doing fun stuff like this, and I'm thankful I can share it with the people I care about
and am thankful to have in my life today:

I'm thankful for the opportunities I've had to jet set,

I'm thankful for this guy, right here.

And his warm, generous family who welcome me to their home every time with open arms.
Check out yesterday's Thanksgiving feast:

About MindyKnows

My photo
I'm a girl constantly on the hunt for top quality, stellar customer service, and fun when it comes to shopping and eating out. The more affordable, the better. Though, you will quickly see that indulging in handbags - Hello, Louis! - and food - Hello, Foodie! - is a weakness of mine. Yes, posts will primarily pertain to the Bay Area as this is where I currently call "Home." However, I am no stranger to travel so visit often to read up on my finds and to chime in on your faves!
